Waterproof Pad for the Biomat Profesional - soy based - It lets the heat pass through.

Many people don't want to wash or wipe down their waterproof cover or who decide not to get one.
Make sure you don't get the ones that have the chemical scent that are the ones the pet stores sell. The hospital grade sheets don't have any smell that attracts dogs or cats to pee on them. The kind at the pet store many dog owner have are not the ones to use. Any drug store or medical supply store has these under pads.
The Water Proof pads from Richway:
The water proof pads from Richway do not block far infrared. Most waterproof pads are plastic based and if put on a mat set at 158 degrees, you don't even want to know what I know it smells like. These are soy based and unlike most waterproof pads, they don't have any smell or petrochemical off gassing. If you really want to know what I am talking about go to any big box bedding store and ask them where their waterproof mattress covers are. Smell one of these and you will see what I mean. I am just tired of people complaining about the price and thinking they are gonna bypass paying 3 times as much and buying one of these plastic ones.
Most people come back and by the soy based one. Plus, if smell is leaching out of the plastic ones and my back is up against it, I don't want to absorb that stuff in my body. The plastic ones are fine for beds that are not being heated up and don't off gas for long and they are not made for heating pads. I even called the company that makes them and they said they would not recommend using it on top of a heating pad.
When I recommend their Richway cover, I am not trying to get people to spend more just to spend more. This is why.

So back to the waterproof cover, I don't use the cloth cover. I am trying to get as much conduction heat from the Biomat as I can handle and without the cloth cover, I don't have to turn the temperature up as high to get the same heat. To see what I am talking about, try going on the Quantum pad with the mat turned up high and the Biomat with just the waterproof cover on low. Now see if the heat you feel almost feels the same.

I recommend the water proof pad for those doing full spectrum sessions longer than 30 minutes. If you ever got a used Biomat from someone and they never used the waterproof pad, it looks very nasty under the black light.

Note: with the pad, on the mats with the amethyst under the urethane, I do not advise people to turn the heat on high. At 158 degrees when there is no fabric cloth on top can be very intense. I recommend starting the sessions on low and working up to higher levels. Remember, the high temperature settings using the waterproof pad shortens most people's session times. If the goal is to raise the core temperature to my maximum level in 30 minutes and the conduction is too high, sometimes I can't continue the session without the cloth.

Many people aren't using the Biomat for lipoysis so the water proof cover might not be needed. If the Biomat is not going to be sweated on I see no need for the water proof cover.
