Recommended Biomat settings

Recommending the setting to put the Richway Biomat on depends on mainly if doing full spectrum or single spectrum sessions. It also depends on if a blanket that lets out some heat or a mini mat is on top that doesn't let the sweat evaporate like it would just laying on the mat without any cover.

When doing single spectrum settings while having the lower mat and upper mat both on high, most people turn the heat level down a bit as having both on high can get it really hot as it doesn't let much heat escape. If you look at my videos you can see the temperature when I put a thick blanket on top the mat went to about 190 degrees.

I still believe people get the best session when they are sandwiched between either the mini and professional Biomat or in between the Queen size folded over.

For those just getting started with the Biomat I don't alway recommend staying on the lowest setting to try to get longer sessions. The lower heat settings can make people warmer from within so just not heating the skin as much.

Also, if using the quantum pad, it blocks some of the conductive heat from the mat so setting it 2 levels higher can feel the same without the quantum pad.

With the waterproof cover, it really doesn't affect the temperature of the mat since it doesn't trap heat like a normal waterproof cover would.

Note: I always recommend people start on the lowest settings first when just getting familiar with the Biomat. I do not recommend using 2 mats at once or folding over the queen size.

Settings Vs Biomat setup

Depending on how intense of a session someone wants, the Professional size or the Single size can be more appropriate. With the professional Biomat, the extra cloth layer doesn't block heat like most that trap heat but for conduction heat, the cloth blocks it. It's like going to the beach and sitting on the hot sand versus laying on a towel on the hot sand. The rays go through it as it is porous but the skin on amethyst is blocked from the fabric. But, there are people that want to take it a little slower and I have no problem with the cloth cover. I will say I can stay on the mat way longer on the highest setting with the cloth and the fabric attached to the professional size mat. The Single size is good because you can alway add the cloth if you don't want so much heat on your skin. Note that the waterproof pad won't fit but I lay it down on the mat. I don't bother tying it around the back of the mat to keep it attached. I am going to wash it right afterwards anyway. I don't need to tie it up to the back. I just need something so the amethyst soaked with sweat.

I put towels around my waterproof pad. I don't want sweat getting into the urethane. I do not use the cloth cover that comes with the mat when I do full spectrum sessions. I get a way better sweat when the water proof pad is directly on the urethane. Higher conduction. It is a little hard to lay on it like this for most people starting out until they gain more positional tolerance. Then it usually becomes much easier.
